Project Start of DigiMain 4.0 funded by EIT Manufacturing

DigiMain 4.0 stands for “Empowering Digital and Technical Robotics Skills of Maintenance Workforce 4.0”. It is a training-oriented project which introduces a work-based training program for maintenance professionals. The upskilling agenda of DigiMain 4.0 enables maintenance workforce to cope with challenges and opportunities of Industry 4.0’s workplace transformation and skill demands. Its main goal is to provide innovative trainings about collaborative robotics for maintenance staff in Europe. The digital learning material for DigiMain 4.0 is further complemented by hands-on training material with mobile demonstrators. The mobile demonstrators enhance obtaining skills and competences in the field of collaborative robotics in maintenance and will be available in affiliated learning factories in Austria and Germany.
Leveraging these training opportunities will get the European maintenance professionals to obtain advanced robotics skills, which are currently widely missing in maintenance workforce.
The digital learning content will be available on the guided learning platform (GLP) of EIT Manufacturing (EU body) by the end of 2021.
DigiMain 4.0’s consortium consists of Festo Lernzentrum Saar, Joanneum Research and TU Wien’s Research Group of Smart and Knowledge-Based Maintenance (SKBM). SKBM coordinates the DigiMain 4.0 project.
DigiMain4.0 is an EU funded project associated to the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).
